He believes that brain fitness is as important as physical fitness in order to achieve peak performance at work, in the classroom and at home.
A lover of all things related to the brain, Dr. Davis received his PhD from the University of British Columbia where he studied the neurophysiology of human movement, his MSc in neuroscience studying the cellular mechanisms of memory and development, and his HBSc in cell biology from the University of Western Ontario.
Dr. Davis has been actively involved in both publicly and privately funded research projects as well as international collaborations. He has conducted and published the findings from interdisciplinary research studies investigating the adaptive properties of the central nervous system in humans and in an invertebrate model system. Additionally, he has designed, executed and published the results of clinical trials demonstrating the effectiveness of a novel medical device designed to prevent falls among older adults.
He was awarded a doctoral research award from the Canadian Institute for Health Research. He is a member of the International Society for Gait and Posture Research, Society for Neuroscience and the Canadian Association for Neuroscience.
